My client, located in downtown Winnipeg, is looking for a Legal Assistant to join their growing team. This small but very busy law firm is a welcomed breath of fresh air in the legal industry. Work with one of the best Office Managers in the business.
The Duties and Responsibilities will include the following:
- Prepare documents from written, oral and taped instructions
- Draft routine correspondence
- Apply proofreading skills to documents and correspondence
- Organize agendas and prepare materials for committee meetings
- General clerical duties include filing, opening files, photocopying, sorting, etc.
- Schedule meetings with legal counsel and prepare for discipline inquiry hearings
- Other administrative duties as required
The Ideal Candidate will possess the following skills and abilities:
- Completion of a legal assistant post secondary program preferred
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written)
- Ability to take initiative and be flexible
- Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Minimum typing speed of 45 WPM
- Accuracy, attention to detail and proven proofreading skills
