Legal Assistant

WORK FOR A SMALL LAW FIRM THAT THINKS BIG!

My client, located in downtown Winnipeg, is looking for a Legal Assistant to join their growing team.  This small but very busy law firm is a welcomed breath of fresh air in the legal industry.  Work with one of the best Office Managers in the business.

The Duties and Responsibilities will include the following:

  • Prepare documents from written, oral and taped instructions
  • Draft routine correspondence
  •  Apply proofreading skills to documents and correspondence
  • Organize agendas and prepare materials for committee meetings
  • General clerical duties include filing, opening files, photocopying, sorting, etc.
  • Schedule meetings with legal counsel and prepare for discipline inquiry hearings
  • Other administrative duties as required

 

The Ideal Candidate will possess the following skills and abilities:

 

  • Completion of a legal assistant post secondary program preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Ability to take initiative and be flexible
  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
  • Minimum typing speed of 45 WPM
  • Accuracy, attention to detail and proven proofreading skills
